Watched this documentary "The Giant Buddhas" on CNA about the Bamiyan Buddha.
The Taliban left heritage enthusiasts devastated with its massive destruction of the world's tallest Buddha statue.

Indeed, I am left speechless at the splendour of what stood on the Afghanistan horizon prior to the despised act of intolerance.
Sheer wonder... a good 13 centuries ago, someone had embarked on the construction of a supreme work of perfection, so precious not only to the Buddhist world but the WORLD.
Amazing how Ven. Xuanzhuang recorded the location and dimensions of the Bamiyan Buddha so very accurately....
